The Best Proposal Spots in Brampton and Caledon

In Brampton, the best proposal spots are Gage Park downtown, especially the winter skating trail, and the gardens at Chinguacousy Park. Just north in Caledon, the Cheltenham Badlands, Belfountain Conservation Area and the Forks of the Credit offer dramatic scenery within a 30-minute drive. Caledon is the better choice if you want privacy and a big view.

Gage Park

Brampton's downtown park has a gazebo, gardens and, in winter, an outdoor skating trail lit up at night. A skating proposal here works well on a weeknight, then dinner on Main Street.

Chinguacousy Park

A large park with flower gardens and a greenhouse. It is a good choice in spring and summer and an easy setting for family to be close by if you want them involved afterwards.

The Cheltenham Badlands

Rolling red hills of exposed shale, viewed from a boardwalk. Nothing else in the GTA looks like it, and the photos are striking at golden hour. Visitors must stay on the boardwalk, and access rules have changed in recent years, so check the current visitor information before planning around it.

Belfountain and the Forks of the Credit

River valleys, a small waterfall and some of the best fall colour near Toronto. Mid-October weekends are busy. Go early on a weekday, or propose on a trail away from the main lookout.

Planning tips

  • Conservation areas often charge parking or entry and may need reservations on busy weekends.
  • Trails can be muddy in spring, so plan shoes for both of you.
  • For family celebrations afterwards, Brampton has plenty of restaurants with private rooms.
